A young girl in Panjshir province committed suicide

PANJSHIR, March 10 (Afghanistan Women’s News Agency) – Local sources in Panjshir province report the suicide of a 17-year-old young girl in this province.

Sources from Panjshir province inform the media that this event took place today, on Monday, March 10th, around 11:00 in the morning in the village of Tondkhoi in the Darah district of this province, where she hanged herself and ended her life.

The young girl, named Tahmina, who was 17 years old, had been engaged to a boy from their village a few months ago, and her fiance lives in Germany.

Sources have identified the motivation for the suicide of this young girl as a verbal argument following a call with her fiance.

Poverty, unemployment, the prohibition of girls’ access to education, and domestic violence are considered the main factors leading to youth suicide in the country.
