April 21, (Afghan Women’s News Agency) – Afghanistan Justice Seeker Women’s Movement has reacted to the recent statements of UN Deputy Secretary General Amina Mohammad and hosting a meeting on May 1 in Doha, and called this action of the UN as ransom to the group that violates human rights.
This movement considered the recent statements of Amina Mohammad and the beginning of talks to establish and formalize the Taliban as against human rights values and demanded a serious position and clarification from the United Nations.
The statement of Afghanistan Justice Seeker Women’s Movement states: “These statements of Amina Mohammad are while there was no hidden violence and oppression from the international community and the United Nations. Describing the documents and evidence of the terrible facts and horrific events by the Taliban, especially for women, fragile reports have been recorded in Afghanistan for almost two years, and this performance is surprising and questionable for us women.”
This women’s movement belonging to Afghan women has also said that global security, which is one of the goals of the United Nations, is possible when women are seen as human beings with equal rights to men, and Afghan women should also have the freedoms that Afghan men enjoy.
“The UN’s obvious ransom to Taliban is actually sacrificing the human rights of women in Afghanistan. Depriving women of the right to education, the right to political and social activities, freedom of speech, the right to freedom of thoughts and opinions, the right to freedom of travel; and other rights that will ensure global peace and security.
How long will women’s rights be confiscated? What is your answer for us? Will the Taliban talk and comply with you in these cases?”
In their statement, the protesting women asked the United Nations to close the dialogue with a group that has never considered itself responsible for its actions and is not accountable to anyone.
