Local sources in Kabul city have reported a strike by some female doctors in the hospitals of this city due to the decrease in their salaries.
Sources confirm to the Afghan Women’s News Agency that some female doctors on Saturday, June 29, protested against the reduction of their salaries by the Taliban leadership and deemed the Taliban’s decision as unjust and discriminatory.
It is said that the protesting female doctors are from the Stomatology, Shaikh Zayed, Wazir Akbar Khan, and Sihat-e-Madar hospitals and are demanding a reinstatement of the increase in female employee salaries.
Furthermore, based on videos published on social media, it can be seen that women in white uniforms specific to medical staff have held protest gatherings in front of these hospitals.
They say that the 5,000 Afghanis, equivalent to 70 dollars, salary set by the Taliban leader for all female employees cannot cover their living expenses.
It is worth mentioning that according to the order of Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Taliban group, a monthly salary of 5,000 Afghanis, equivalent to 70 dollars, is to be paid to female employees in government offices who have been confined to their homes after the rule of this group or they are working in the offices of this group.
With the Taliban group regaining control of the country, women and girls have been deprived of all their basic rights and privileges by this group.
