Several employees from several health centers in the districts of Herat province have launched a strike in response to the failure to receive their salaries. According to local sources in the province, these employees, numbering around thirty, have been deprived of their salaries for more than three months.
They have also criticized the Afghanistan Development and Aid Agency (ADA) and the Organization for Health Promotion and Management (OHPM) for their lack of attention to their plight, emphasizing that these institutions have yet to compensate them while the public health ministry officials remain indifferent to this pressing issue.
The protesting employees have stated that if the delay in their wage payments continues, they will refrain from working at these health centers.
The health facilities involved in the strikes include the comprehensive health center in the Pashtun Zarghun district, the health center in Sang Kutal of the Gholran district, health facilities in the Torghundi community, and the Kashk Robat Sangi area, as well as the comprehensive health center in Rawashan in the Injil district.
According to local sources, salaries for over three months for 113 health centers in Herat remain unpaid, and as of now, the relevant public health officials have not provided any comments regarding this situation.
