Parasto Yari: Afghan Women Cannot Be Eliminated; They Are Shaping Country’s Future

The three-day conference on Afghan women, held in Tirana, the capital of Albania, concluded yesterday, Friday, September 13. The event brought together over 120 activists including women’s rights activists, human rights defenders, former government officials, members of protest movements, and several journalists from various countries to discuss the role of women in Afghanistan’s policies.

Parasto Yari, a women’s rights activist and one of the participants in this conference, shared her insights on the outcome in an exclusive interview with the Afghan Women’s News Agency. She stated, “Afghan women are a robust, unified, and powerful voice standing against their erasure from Afghan society.”

“The message from the women participating in this conference is that Afghan women are the ones shaping their country’s future, and they cannot be erased,” Yari said.

Therefore, let us stand alongside Afghan women and serve as their advocates to ensure that the fundamental rights of all citizens of Afghanistan, particularly women and girls, are upheld.

This conference, held with the support of Albania, Spain, and Switzerland, has been the largest gathering in the history of Afghan women.
