Rina Amiri: “The Significance of Women’s Presence in Future Afghan Dialogues”

Rina Amiri, the Special Representative of the United States for Women and Human Rights in Afghanistan, has raised the importance of women’s participation in discussions concerning the future of Afghanistan on her social media platform X in observance of International Women’s Day in Diplomacy. The absence of women in conversations related to the future of Afghanistan leaves no resolution for the challenges faced by this nation. Afghan women have played a significant and dignified role in the course of history.

Ms. Amiri added, “There is no solution for the security, peace, and stability challenges in Afghanistan without the inclusion of women in discussions pertaining to the future of this country.”

While emphasizing the necessity of the presence of women in discussions concerning the future of Afghanistan, Ms. Amiri noted that women will not be attending the summit scheduled to take place in Doha on June 30.

It is noteworthy that the third conference of special representatives from various countries regarding Afghanistan, hosted by the United Nations in Doha, Qatar, will be held in the upcoming week on Sunday and Monday.

It is reported that this summit will take place with the involvement of the Taliban and the absence of women, civil society, and opponents of this group.
