Taliban Severs Man’s Hand in Panjshir Province

Local authorities of the Taliban group in Panjshir province have informed the media that this group has severed the hand of a man accused of theft in public.

The media office of the Taliban group in Panjshir province stated in a press release that Sayed Hashem, a resident of Dara district, was prosecuted on charges of theft by the Taliban judiciary in this province and on Monday, his hand was severed.

It is reported that during the severing of Sayed Hashem’s hand, Taliban officials, including the Chief Judge of Panjshir province, the district governor, the head of the district’s court, and some local residents, had gathered to witness this event.

So far, the Taliban group has not specified what Sayed Hashem stole that led to the public severing of his hand. Lately, the Taliban group has increased public punishment of accused individuals.
