The Afghanistan Women’s Light of Freedom Movement, in a statement released on Tuesday, January 14, called for the establishment of scholarships for women and girls who have been deprived of their right to education in Afghanistan.
This movement condemned the continued ban on education for girls and described it as contrary to religious values. In the statement, the movement stated that the Taliban’s educational restrictions against women reflect the continued cultural and social biases of this group.
The Afghanistan Women’s Light of Freedom Movement emphasized that the education of women and girls plays a key role in development, peace, and the reduction of extremism. Additionally, this movement has urged the international community to take more concrete actions to support the women of Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, the Taliban has closed two English language training centers in Daykundi Province. This action has raised concerns about the deteriorating state of education in Afghanistan.
The Afghanistan Women’s Light of Freedom Movement hopes that the international community will facilitate the advancement of girls and women in Afghanistan by providing scholarships and educational support.
