This book compiles the memoirs of 21 Afghan women writers following August 15, 2021. It was previously published in Dari and Pashto and has now also been translated into English for its audience.
At a ceremony held last week at the Old Library in London to commemorate this occasion, Negin Kargar, the translator of the book, spoke about its contents, highlighting the book’s significance in reflecting the obstacles and challenges faced by Afghan women, as well as raising public awareness about the issues confronting women residing in Afghanistan.
Batool Haidari, one of the 21 authors of this book, described the published work as encompassing the memoirs of women reflecting on the pressures exerted by the ruling group in Afghanistan, stating that this book reveals a clear picture of the realities that Afghan women have experienced over the past three years.
