Two Individuals Publicly Lashed by the Taliban in Panjshir

The Supreme Court of the Taliban has announced the flogging of two individuals publicly on charges of illicit relationships and fleeing from home in Panjshir province.

This court stated in a declaration that these individuals were flogged on Tuesday, based on the verdict of the Provincial Lower Court of Panjshir.

Local sources in the province also confirm that each of these individuals received 20 lashes from the Taliban group.

According to sources, the flogging sentence on these individuals was executed after the approval of the Taliban Supreme Court.

The Taliban group has recently flogged several accused individuals in public.

It is worth noting that this group, on Tuesday, in Sar-e-Pol province, flogged 63 individuals, including 48 men and 15 women, on charges of extramarital relationships, sodomy, fleeing from home, theft, and dishonouring, each receiving up to 39 lashes.

Yar Mohammad Omari, the Chief Justice of the Taliban Trial Court in Sar-e-Pol province, has described the public flogging of the accused as one of the important objectives of the Islamic religion and the Islamic system of the Taliban.
