Women’s Reaction to the Death of Hora Sadat: Taliban Commits Targeted Killings of Women

A group of protesting women went to the grave of famous YouTuber Hora Sadat in response to the mysterious death of her in Kabul and issued a statement saying that the Taliban has been commiting targeted killings of women for the past two years.
Hora Sadat died in a suspicious incident last week. Her family said her death was an accident and her relatives said it was food poisoning, but now sources have told the media that Hora Sadat was killed by a member of the Taliban.

The members of Afghanistan’s powerful women’s movement today, Saturday, August 26, 2023, issued a statement asking the international community and human rights organizations to stop the Taliban’s anti-human crimes against Afghan women.

In the statement of these protesting women, it is stated that during the two years of Taliban rule in Afghanistan, in addition to the fact that women have been completely deprived of all political, social, economic, cultural, artistic and entertainment activities, they have been insulted, humiliated, tortured, beaten, imprisoned, raped and killed mysterious and purposefully by the Taliban.
They also said that in the last two years, dozens of women in Kabul and other provinces of the country, who were active in the society before the Taliban came to power and during the rule of this group, were killed by the Taliban in a mysterious and targeted manner, and the responsibility of these murders has been placed on the shoulders of unknown armed people by this group.

The protesting women have claimed in the statement that the body of Hora Sadat was buried by the Taliban without the presence of her family members, and now her burial place is under strict surveillance by the Taliban.

Afghanistan’s powerful women’s movement has asked the international community and organizations that support human rights and women’s rights around the world to stop the Taliban’s crimes and not let the Afghan people, especially women, become victims of this situation every day, and their voice for justice should not be silenced.
