Local sources in FirouzKoh city of Ghor Province informed the Afghan Women’s News Agency that the Taliban arrested a protesting woman and her father on Wednesday March 8, 2023.
This female protester is called Habiba Sharifi, and on the occasion of March 8, International Women’s Solidarity Day, she protested in front of the Taliban governor’s gate in Ghor Province.
They chanted the slogans “The United Nations has forgotten the women of Afghanistan” ,”Prohibiting education is a crime, silence to crime is humiliation” and “Education, work and social justice are our rights; No to discrimination” and “Long live equality”.
The protest of Habiba Sharifi and several other women was dispersed by the Taliban.
At the same time, the Taliban group issued a verdict of stoning a woman yesterday in Lal and Sarjangal area of Ghor province.
Our sources in Ghor province say that the Taliban arrested this woman from the hospital of this district last week on charges of having an illicit relationship due to an abortion.
Sources from Lal and Sarjangal area say: “This woman had aborted her fetus and due to severe bleeding, she needed to go to the central hospital of this district, where she was arrested by Taliban forces.”
A man was also arrested by the Taliban on charges of illicit relations with this woman, and according to the information of the local people, the arrest order for 15 other people was also issued by the Taliban.
