Local sources in Bamyan province report the mysterious death of a teenage girl in the Waras district of the province.
But Taliban security officials in Bamyan say a teenage girl has committed suicide in the province.
A statement issued by the Taliban Police Command for Bamyan province said that the incident took place on Friday (May 13, 2022) in Khak Baba village of Waras district of the province.
The Taliban identified the girl as 15-year-old Shakila.
The provincial police command considered the incident a suicide and wrote that the girl hanged herself in the kitchen of the house and died.
Although the motive for the incident is not known yet, with the Taliban increasing restrictions, family austerity and the mysterious violence and deaths of women and girls have increased.
An 18-year-old girl was recently killed in a mysterious incident in Sorkhjoi village of Waras district in Bamyan. Locals found the girl’s body in the stall of her house while she was hung.
