The US Seismological Center has reported the occurrence of two earthquakes in Paktika and Badakhshan, Afghanistan. According to the information of this center, around 4:00 pm today (Monday, July 18), an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 shook Khost province and at the same time, another earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3 occurred in Badakhshan.
The American Seismological Center has said that the depth of the Paktika earthquake was 10 km from the ground and it shook Paktia, Paktika and Logar provinces of Afghanistan and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The 4.3-magnitude earthquake in Badakhshan, its epicenter was 209 km from the ground in Jorm district of Badakhshan, and it shook the city of Faizabad, the capital of this province, as well as parts of Badakhshan,Tajikistan.
So far, there have been no reports of possible damages and casualties from these earthquakes. However, local sources in Paktika Province say that dozens of houses were destroyed and dozens of injured people were taken to the hospital after the earthquake.
