BAMYAN, Jan 23 (Afghanistan Women’s News Agency) – The recent surge of diverse ailments among women and children in Bamyan has become a matter of concern for medical professionals. With the onset of winter, doctors at the Antani Hospital in Bamyan have reported a significant increase in illnesses in the province’s center and districts.

Common colds, pneumonia, sore throats, chest infections, and jaundice are among the ailments that have primarily affected the female and children population. Several patients who have been hospitalized for less than a week have reported that hundreds of people in their villages have been afflicted with such diseases, and many of them lack the means to afford medication.

Antani Hospital in Bamyan is currently facing a severe shortage of beds, with doctors admitting at least 20 individuals every day for treatment. This situation demands immediate attention and action to ensure the well-being of patients.

The adverse weather conditions, economic challenges, and high unemployment rates have rendered several families incapable of affording adequate heating systems, consequently exposing them to prolonged periods of cold during winter. It is imperative to address this issue to mitigate its impact on the health of individuals in the region.
