Local sources in Parwan province reported the second incident of the death of former soldiers due to torture by the Taliban in a single day in this province.

Sources say a former soldier named Nazer Mohammad, who was detained by the Taliban last year in the village of Khwaja Mohammadkhel in the Jabal al-Siraj district of this province, lost his life due to excessive torture by the Taliban.

According to sources, Nazer Mohammad was detained three times by this group and subjected to various torture methods. Due to excessive torture on his waist and legs, he suffered serious injuries and parts of his body were paralyzed. He passed away on Friday, April 26th, due to the inflicted injuries.

Sources state that Nazer Mohammad was the main resident of the village of Khwaja Mohammadkhel and served as a police officer in the third district of Charikar city in the previous government. It is said that he left behind five children, both daughters and sons.

Furthermore, in another incident, a member of the former local police forces passed away in Parwan one day after being released from a Taliban prison. According to sources, the Taliban detained this former soldier, named Fawad, who had recently been expelled from Iran, on Thursday, April 25, in Parwan and released him after a day of torture. He lost his life on Friday, April 26, in the village of Chubakhsh Robat in Bagram district.

Sources reported that the Taliban handed Fawad over to his family one day before his death while he was in poor health.

Since seizing power in the country, the Taliban group has detained, tortured, and killed a significant number of former government soldiers.
