Pari Gul Ahmadi, the in charge and founder of a chips factory in Bamyan province, told the Afghan Women’s News Agency that she is the first woman to establish a chips factory in Bamyan province, located in the Saark Bazaar. She stated that she has started this factory with a personal investment of 850,000 Afghanis.

Ms. Ahmadi, who previously worked as a beautician and supported herself and her family through that profession, providing job opportunities for other women as well, said that after the Taliban’s resurgence and the closure of beauty salons by this group, she thought of starting this business.

This female entrepreneur has been running this factory for three months now, providing job opportunities for several other young ladies.

“The rent for the shop is high, we have few customers, there is no significant income to cover my expenses and those of the shop, and we do not have exports to other provinces,” Ahmadi said.

Due to the limited budget, she has not been able to purchase all the necessary equipment, but she expresses hope that both foreign and domestic organizations may assist and collaborate with her.

She added that the Taliban group has not provided any help or cooperation to her.

This comes as some women consider poor economic conditions and restrictions against women as significant barriers to women’s employment, causing some women to leave their jobs for these reasons.
