BAMYAN, Jan 24 (Afghanistan Women’s News Agency) – An art exhibition featuring dozens of diverse artworks by male and female artists was inaugurated in Bamiyan. In this exhibition, numerous women and men participated, engaging with the artistic creations on display.

There is a growing concern among female artists regarding the reduction in the production of their artworks. This issue has been compounded by several limitations that they have faced recently.

Marina (pseudonym), a female painter, states: “The morality police of the Taliban are seen inspecting their shops every day, not allowing them to paint images of women and Buddha statues.”

Additionally, some other artists mention that the residents of Bamyan lack the purchasing power for artworks due to economic difficulties, and are compelled to cease their artistic endeavors due to the continuation of this situation.
