KABUL, AFGHANISTAN – Several private educational centres in Kabul city have been closed due to the enrollment of female students above the sixth grade.

Local sources in Kabul reported that the Taliban initiated this process on Monday, April 1, starting in certain areas of the city and planning to expand this initiative to all of Kabul in the coming days.

It has been three years since the ban on girls attending school beyond the sixth grade was enforced, and despite extensive efforts by international organizations, no action has been taken to reopen girls’ schools in Afghanistan by the Taliban.
