Continuation of Civil Protests in Badakhshan Province
Following the violent demonstrations in the districts of Darayim and Argoy in Badakhshan province protesting the actions of the Taliban regime, the women's protest movement in this province has now initiated a gathering to express dissatisfaction with the behavior of the Taliban regime. They accuse the ruling administration of blatant gender discrimination and undermining the fundamental rights of women.

Following the violent demonstrations in the districts of Darayim and Argoy in Badakhshan province protesting the actions of the Taliban regime, the women’s protest movement in this province has now initiated a gathering to express dissatisfaction with the behavior of the Taliban regime. They accuse the ruling administration of blatant gender discrimination and undermining the fundamental rights of women.

They are urging the United Nations to denounce the Taliban regime’s behavior as gender apartheid and condemn it.

This session has been convened amidst the escalating dispute between the Taliban and the residents of Badakhshan province over the devastating destruction of poppy fields in the past ten days, turning into a deadly protest. The Taliban have deployed additional forces to the districts of Badakhshan.
