Local sources from the provinces of Samangan, Badakhshan, and Takhar have reported the occurrence of floods in these provinces.

Local sources reported that in the flood-affected provinces, more than 80 individuals have perished, over 100 residential homes have been destroyed, and over 1,000 hectares of agricultural land have been devastated.

Furthermore, according to reports received by the Afghan Women’s News Agency, children, women, vulnerable segments of society, livestock, and significant financial losses have impacted the residents of these provinces.

Heavy rainfall continues in most areas of these provinces, and according to the predictions of the Natural Disasters Management Authority, the scope of the floods is expanding. The residents of these provinces must move away from the riverbanks, valleys, and mountainsides and seek refuge in relatively elevated areas.

Recent floods in the northern region of the country have triggered national and international responses.

The Taliban Ministry of Higher Education has dispatched medical teams comprising doctors from teaching hospitals and the Kabul University of Medical Sciences to these provinces to aid the affected individuals.
