On the other hand, the anniversary ceremony of the eighth Imam of the Shiites’ birth, which was officially launched with festivities and hymns, has been cancelled in Iran.

The head of the Iranian Red Crescent states that 320 rescuers, organized into 46 teams, continue their efforts to locate the crash site of this helicopter.

He further adds that this incident occurred at 1:30 pm Iran time, May 19, and, after more than ten hours, they have not been able to determine the fate of the occupants of this helicopter.

The Iranian Department of Environment has identified the crash site of this helicopter as a forest habitat for over 100 endangered species, such as leopards.

An Iranian official, speaking to a Reuters news agency reporter without disclosing his name, has stated that one should not expect the President to be alive.

The announcement of this news has been met with reactions from Iran’s neighbours. The Taliban group, which returned to power in Afghanistan simultaneously with Raisi’s rise in Iran, follows this event with fear and hope, as stated in a newsletter issued through its Foreign Ministry.

Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan, and the last official who met with Raisi, has pledged cooperation in identifying the crash site of the helicopter, expressing concern over the President’s helicopter crash in Iran.

Turkey has confirmed that Iran has requested a search and rescue helicopter from them during the night.

Iraq, Armenia, and Saudi Arabia have also expressed their concerns about this event and emphasized their cooperation if Tehran desires.
