Afghan Women’s News Agency – In a newsletter, the Afghan Journalists Center announced the confiscation of the equipment of three private media outlets, including two radios and one television, in Daikundi.

The Taliban intelligence department in Daikundi Province confiscated the equipment of Aftab Radio, Daikundi Radio and Sabzha TV under the pretext that they are government property, while they are private media owned by individuals.

The Afghan Journalists Center has called this action of the Taliban a systematic suppression of freedom of speech and media and has asked the Taliban to return the equipment to the owners of these private media and to respect the legal rights of the media.

Meanwhile, the Taliban in Daikundi recently closed the gate of the local radio “Naseem” for the second time and imprisoned three reporters of this local radio on the charge of publishing anti-Taliban content.
