The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), on April 9, announced through a social media post that the distribution of seasonal cash assistance has commenced to over two thousand needy and vulnerable families.

However, following the restrictions and prohibitions on women’s work within the United Nations Offices in Afghanistan, the distribution of humanitarian aid in this country has also decreased, depriving millions of families of receiving much-needed assistance.

Simultaneously with the cessation of humanitarian aid in Afghanistan, the number of recipients in need of this aid has increased compared to any other time. Some impoverished individuals have complained about the lack of assistance, stating that they are facing greater economic challenges than in previous years.

A few weeks ago, the UN Women’s Agency in Afghanistan mentioned that the imposition of restrictions on women’s work has led to some international aid organizations suspending their humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, resulting in reduced support for projects aimed at empowering women and girls.
