Lia Ghazanfar Jawad from Afghanistan is the winner of the annual FLD or Front Line (Human) Rights Defender statue recognized by the Human Rights Defenders Organization.

Liah Jawad, a human rights activist, is in charge of the Feminine Solidarity for Justice Organization and an elected member of the Secretariat of the Joint Civil Society Working Group, which has worked to promote Afghan women’s rights over the past three decades.

She did not leave the country after the recent developments and works for human rights in Afghanistan.

She is now recognized by the Human Rights Defenders Organization as the winner of the annual Statue of Human Rights Defenders (FLD).

She is now recognized as the winner of the annual Statue of Front Line Defenders Award (FLD).

Ms. Jawad had previously received a Malalai Medal from the previous government for her humanitarian work.
