Afghan Women’s News Agency – Sharing a photo of Dutch Health Minister Ernst Kuypers with Abdul Bari Omar, director of the Taliban’s Food and Drug Administration, met with widespread reactions.
A member of the Dutch parliament called the photo of the health minister of this country with a Taliban official “unbelievable scandal” and “shameful”.
Afghans inside and outside the country condemned this act and called it as unexpected. After the wide wave of reactions due to the publication of the photo of the Minister of Health of the Netherlands with Abdulbari Omar, an official of the Taliban, Ernst Kuypress apologized to all the people, especially the women of Afghanistan.
In a statement on X, he said, “At the last World Assembly of Local Productions in The Hague, I took a picture with a representative of the Taliban. I did not know who this person was at that time.”
He expressed his concern about this and added: “This was a mistake and should not have happened at all. We are currently investigating how this person attended this conference.”
The Dutch health minister has called himself a defender of human rights and women’s rights and said that he does not want to be associated with this terrible regime.
In response to the presence of the Taliban representative in Germany and the reception of the Afghan refugees, Tamana Pariani has asked the German government to review the case of the refugees who welcomed the Taliban representative, because these people welcomed the Taliban.
