According to sources, Feraidun Rayan was arrested by the Taliban intelligence a week ago at a Taliban checkpoint and was taken to an undisclosed location. So far, there is no information available about his fate, and the motive behind the detention of this poet remains unknown.

Meanwhile, some residents of Khost province have called for the release of Mr. Rayan by launching a campaign on social media against the Taliban group.

This is the sixth case of arbitrary and unjustified detention of local individuals by the Taliban group in the past week. During the past week, the group had also detained a teacher in Panjshir and a journalist in Parwan.

Since the return to power, the Taliban group has detained, tortured, and imprisoned hundreds of Afghans for various charges, and this trend is on the rise.
