Local sources have informed the media that the mullah of a mosque has severely beaten around 30 children in Taluqan City, the capital of Takhar province.
Local sources reported that this past Saturday, the mullah of the Hazrat Idris Mosque physically assaulted these children, aged between six and eight years old, who were studying religious sciences at the mosque, first by severe beating and then by shaving their heads due to not wearing caps. Marks of whipping and beating are visible on the bodies of these children.
Local Taliban authorities in Takhar have not commented on this matter yet.
It is worth mentioning that reports of abuse, sexual harassment, and physical violence against children in seminaries in various provinces of the country, such as Kabul and Takhar, have been previously disclosed.
