KUNDUZ, AFGHANISTAN - Sources in Kunduz province have reported the detention of a local journalist by the intelligence of the Taliban group in this province.

KUNDUZ, AFGHANISTAN – Sources in Kunduz province have reported the detention of a local journalist by the intelligence of the Taliban group in this province.

The journalist, identified as Obaidullah Ahmadi, is a correspondent for the private television channel 1, Yesterday, March 24, around 11:00 AM, during a gathering of reconciliation between two families held at the municipal hotel of this province, which he had attended cover, he was apprehended by Taliban intelligence.

As of now, specific details regarding the nature of his detention are not available.

It is noteworthy that yesterday, alongside the arrest of Ahmadi, Taliban intelligence also detained three other journalists in this province, who were released after several hours of interrogation.

With the resurgence of the Taliban group in Afghanistan, a considerable number of journalists have been detained for unknown reasons, turning Afghanistan into one of the worst countries for freedom of speech and media, whereas in the previous regime, it was one of the best countries in the region in terms of freedom of speech and media.
