TAKHAR, Jan 28 Local sources report that the Taliban publicly flogged eleven individuals in the Rustaq district of Takhar province.

According to the sources, on Friday, January 26, the Taliban publicly flogged eleven individuals, seven of whom were men and four were women, in a makeshift court.

The Taliban punished these individuals on charges such as fleeing from home, having extramarital relationships, and theft.

Over the past two years, the Taliban have publicly punished dozens of men and women across the country on various charges.

The citizens of the country have expressed concern about the Taliban’s extrajudicial trials and punishments of individuals without presenting evidence and reasons, considering such trials as contrary to Islamic law. They argue that despite the blatant corruption by Taliban members, there is no accountability for their actions.
