In addition to the reactions of other international organizations to the recent detentions of women by the Taliban for not wearing appropriate hijab, Amnesty International has now urged the release of these women and an immediate cessation of the oppression of women.

This organization has deemed the arbitrary arrests and oppression of women by the Taliban as further violations of women’s freedom of activity and expression in Afghanistan on page X.

The Taliban forces, following the imposition of numerous restrictions against women and girls, are now subjecting women and girls to harassment and persecution for “bad hijab” in the urban areas, and taking them to undisclosed detention centers.

Several citizens in the country have expressed their denunciation of the Taliban’s stringent regulations and restrictions against women, citing them as being incompatible with the principles and norms of Islamic law.
