Afghan Women’s News Agency – Salam Watandar media network has conducted the latest research on violence against women in Afghanistan in the last two months.

This research, which covered 326 women in 27 provinces of the country, shows that 77% of Afghan women face violence. Based on this research, 54% of women have faced psychological violence such as pointing and pointing, threatening, cursing and stalking, 14% physical violence (beating) and 4% sexual violence (rape).

Kabul had the highest number of participants with 31% and Badakhshan with 1.6% had the lowest number of participants in this research.
This research was conducted among women of different age groups, most of whom were between 18 and 45 years old, and most of them were students or high school students.

In this research, 43% of women participants claimed that they were subjected to violence by ordinary people, and 16% of them said that their family members caused the violence.10% of them said that they were abused by their husbands, 9% were abused by government forces, and another 4% were abused by their employer at work.

Deprivation of women from basic freedoms such as not having the right to education, work, family support, the right to choose, and environmental factors such as illiteracy, poverty, and traditions ruling the society have been called factors of violence against women.
