The Purple Saturdays movement on Sunday, December 31, in a protest gathering at a close place, issued a statement to the United Nations urging them to refrain from appeasing the Taliban. The global community and the United Nations should respect the desires of the people of Afghanistan, the UN Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and other international documents, and abstain from engaging, reconciling, and paying tribute to the Taliban group, most of whose leaders are included in the United Nations blacklist.
